Summary

Together with my co-authors, I examine 4,939 NGOs listed in Ecuador in 2020. We classify 31.38% as active and 33.59% as inactive, while the remainder lacked sufficient public information, and connect this institutional information deficit with scarce funding, uneven professionalisation, and digital visibility.
