Summary

Together with Juan Francisco Camino, I examine how 1,097 vulnerable families in Quito who sought assistance perceived Ecuador's institutional response during the first COVID-19 restrictions. Using David Easton's theory, we connect unmet needs with specific and diffuse political support without presenting the data as a representative survey.
