The Decline of U.S. Hegemony and the Strategic Challenge from China and Other Emerging Actors — Part II

Summary

China can compete with the United States, but it cannot yet replace it as the hegemonic power. This second part extends the comparison to the geopolitical and military dimensions: Taiwan, the Indo-Pacific, alliances, soft power, and power-projection capabilities. The result is a scenario of contained conflict that remains vulnerable to escalation and could draw in countries with no direct stake in the dispute. Prepared as part of my work with CESPE-ESPE.
