Summary
This strategic report explores why liberal multilateralism remains necessary even though its current structure no longer responds adequately to the challenges it must address. The pandemic and the Russo-Ukrainian war exposed the flaws of veto power in the United Nations Security Council, double standards, inequality in decision-making, and the gap between institutional effectiveness and legitimacy. The analysis considers possible reform scenarios based on regional integration, South–South cooperation, technological democratization, and United Nations reform. Prepared as part of my work with CESPE-ESPE.
